EMPTY TRAIN

Doors hiss Then close Platform falls away Bare blue seats in rows One cup One stray page Fluorescent hum Like someone trying to say my name Empty train Metal heart No names Every echo’s Just the rails again Empty train Car to car The same You keep moving But you never change Ad maps Half torn Smile for cheaper phones My face doubled In the sliding windows Speed outside Inside Air that never goes Who were you waiting for? Who did you carry home? You swallow every story Then you roll And roll Empty train Metal heart No names Every echo’s Just the rails again Empty train Car to car The same You keep moving But you never change
